Designed For Joy provides women in crisis with stability through immediate employment and support, removing the stigma of vulnerability.

Established in 2017, Designed for Joy has been able to hire over 170 referred women. 

Our nonprofit partners refer women to Designed for Joy. These women may be emerging from sex trafficking, homelessness, justice involvement, domestic situations, substance use, or as refugees. Designed for Joy can offer them immediate, competitive wage work, as well as a safe place to be. They practice trusting others, participate in communal meals, receive job training, and are reminded of their worth.

We provide a 7 day work program with cash paid at the end of each day for women needing emergency funds. We also offer a 3-month program for those ready and in need of work experience.

Our 5,000 sq. foot production studio in Raleigh, North Carolina provides space for handcrafting our gorgeous leather handbags, all lovingly assembled by the women in our programs, ensuring they have a safe workplace and a living wage.
